Out here on the perimeter

We’ve added some new movies (5) and are adding more this week, we appreciate everyone that keeps checking back for new titles, at the moment we get them in bursts but as soon as we get a regular stream we’ll start pushing out a weekly newsletter with new listings. We are happy to announce that the upcoming batch of programmes will also include two tv shows each of which will run to about 20 episodes, we think this is a great way to tell a story as it lets the producer’s develop the characters in greater depth. We’ll definitely be on the lookout for more.

Having data is almost like having a good report just before you hand it over to your parents who will scrutinize it with a fine tooth comb except for two crucial differences a) data is constantly evolving and not always for the better b) This time we’re the ones poring over performance. Combined these differences give checking our results an exhilaration I doubt our parents had looking through our rather uniform results, now we can change stuff and get immediate feedback as to what works and what doesn’t which greatly helps our quest to make all this better.

One happy side effect we’ve noticed is that we’re much less inclined to slack off with these numbers glaring at us from across the screen, not that we needed motivation but every little helps. This tends to manifest in very odd behaviour no doubt spurred on by a blood/coffee ratio that cannot possibly be healthy. This ranges from the trivial but excruciating act of forgetting to eat proper food to the more catastrophic lapses in judgement which we’ll conveniently leave out of print :-)

Just a little further in

It’s been a week since we entered into the fray. A week wrought with excitement and more than a little trepidation where everything came together and we finally gave you something moderately useful. We are still toiling away at it so have no fear this is only the first act, we’ve got our hands on a host of films which we’re in the process of uploading and hope you’ll be checking into the site as we add them. We asked for comments last week and got back quite a few detailed comments and suggestions so as always we’re quite thankful, you know who you are!

Then there were the surprises, it turns out that we’re also attracting viewers from places we didn’t expect, Austria, India, Italy and Thailand all contributed significant traffic this week, we’re quite pleased with this development, we don’t know who you are but we hope you enjoyed the movies, more are definitely on the way and we look forward to your support.

So this coming week we’re headed to BOBTV in Abuja with our shiny new service to sell it to the hundreds of producers that will be in attendance. We’re looking forward to a decent haul and will convert them one by one if we have to just so we can enhance your viewing pleasure…enjoy.

And so we begin…

I think they sold us a lie, they kept saying that once we were done with school we would be done with tests, never again to endure the torture of wondering if you were good enough. No, the tests just got longer and now the results are all so fuzzy most of the time you just have to keep going and hope you’re in headed in generally the right direction. So it is with us, after months toiling away we finally have a working model to show you – our examiners so to speak.

If you head on to www.lumoe.com you will find a number of Nigerian movies which depending on your internet connection should play as if you had the disc with you. This is at no cost to you and it’s completely legal (we have documents!) so we hope you will work your way through the catalogue which over the course of the next few weeks we will be adding more movies and fingers crossed a few TV shows as well. As it’s a work in progress we would deeply appreciate comments from you, what you like/didn’t like, features you would like to see and any other way we could make it better. By the way we’re still looking for more films and adverts so if you happen to know of any producers or even advertisers that would be interested in what we’re doing please send them our way. We’re also going to be at BOBTV in Abuja later this month so if you happen to have a free afternoon come down to our stand and we’ll let you have a look at some of our upcoming projects. Later.
