When it’s all explicitly implicit

Many weeks have passed and I’m sure you’re wondering what’s happened to us, maybe not. As usual we’ve been slaving away recording victories along the way interspersed with the occasional setback, all the while doggedly moving to our intended destination. I believe a belated happy Sallah and Independence are due, both occasions resulting in much merriment and days spent eating more than is probably healthy.

So since last time, we managed to get our hands on the fabled producer’s agreement which we need to get (legally) all those wonderful films we love to watch, a masterpiece of legal drafting as our frazzled lawyer quickly points out. We’ve sent it out to a few of the producers and have had positive feedback so we should be uploading their films and finally getting this show on the road. Now if you’ve been following we’ve been trading friendly threats with our lawyer over this issue but his has since been resolved and we’ve promised him a fruit basket soon.

Last week was the Abuja Film Festival where we rubbed shoulders with many talented people all the while trying to hide exactly how star struck we were. This was further compounded once they we got to the discussion panel where we sweated enough bricks to build our as yet uncompleted office. This was a great opportunity for us and we were able to explain what it is we’re trying to achieve. The funny thing is it hit me how far we’ve come with this in terms of how we can help proliferate Nigerian content across the world and also how so many people we come across not only understand but are extremely enthused by it. I’m very thankful for the enthusiasm everyone shows for Lumoe and only serves as a promise that we’re onto something everyone will like as well as being ample motivation for seeing this through. I hope this will be our own modest contribution towards making life better for everyone.

Lastly this wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Mr. Fidelis Duker and his colleagues at the Abuja International Film Festival without whom it would not have been possible as well as for inviting us to speak there. Their support and guidance has been of tremendous importance to us and we will be sure to snag their films onto the site for your viewing pleasure. Later
